FAQ
-
Does FR-TAP cost anything?
-
No. Like all SC4i services, it’s no cost.
-
-
Will my department know?
-
Our counseling and transition assistance sessions are confidential. The only exception is when a mandatory reporting requirement applies.
-
-
Do I have to be in counseling to join?
-
No. Counseling is available if you want it, but it’s not required.
-
-
Can my spouse reach out on their own?
-
Yes. Spouses are welcome to reach out on their own. We find the transition goes best when you work through it together, and we can help you figure out how to bring your First Responder into the conversation.
-
-
I retired years ago. Is it too late?
-
No. Whether you retired last year or a decade ago, it’s never too late to find your next purpose. Many people reach out once the adjustment turns out harder than they expected.
